With the new ETS services to Gemas, travel time between Gemas and other stations along the line such as Pulau Sebang (Tampin) and Seremban has been cut by almost half as compared with normal KTM Intercity services. This also connects the Negeri Sembilan and Melaka states with KL and the northern states seamlessly.
Coach numbers are conveniently pasted on the platforms at KL Sentral, and other stations served by the ETS as well. As ETS trains to Gemas does not stop at KL Sentral for long, it is best for you to queue at your coach area before boarding.
The ETS stops in KL Sentral for around 1 minute on schedule only, although with passenger flow delays, this could extend by up to 5 minutes.
2 ETS Gold train services are extended to Gemas, the EG9211 from Butterworth and the EG9203 from Padang Besar.
The passenger information screens inside the ETS showing the route to Gemas.
The train runs relatively empty to Gemas for now, partly due to the early announcement of the service.
This of course makes great interior shots.
The ETS offers a much wider legroom than second class on KTM Intercity. The footrests can be stowed away as well.
New stops to Gemas include Bandar Tasik Selatan for convenient interchange to other destinations via Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, KLIA Transit or the RapidKL Sri Petaling Line.
Nilai is also added as a stop for convenient interchange to Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Airport Liner buses.
The train arrives at Seremban 8 minutes ahead of schedule.
The new Class 93 ETS trains also provide a Surau, or Muslim prayer room at Coach C.
Wheelchair-friendly washrooms are located at Coach D. If you book a ticket for a person in wheelchair, he or she will be seated in Coach D as well, with a dedicated space in front of the seat for convenience.
Nasi Goreng from the ETS Bistro at Coach C. RM6.20.
Airplane-style trolleys are also used for service here. Brahim Catering, which also does catering for Malaysia Airlines and based at KLIA, runs the ETS Bistro, and these trolleys are provided by them.
The journey from KL Sentral to Gemas takes just 1 hour and 17 minutes.
Tickets from KL Sentral to Gemas on the ETS Gold cost RM31.
From the EG9203, you may connect seamlessly to the Shuttle 61dn onwards to JB Sentral at Gemas.

So the KL Sentral – Gemas portion serve 6 services daily right?
1) Butterworth – Gemas (and vice versa)
2) Padang Besar – Gemas – (and vice versa)
3) KL Sentral – Seremban – Gemas (and vice versa)
Only 2 southbound services and 2 northbound services: Butterworth – Gemas – Butterworth and Padang Besar – Gemas – Padang Besar for now. There is no KL Sentral – Gemas service.
OK. I mixed it up with the KTM Komuter service that cover the Tanjung Malim – Gemas.
The Komuter service to Gemas is from Seremban only. To get to Gemas from Tanjung Malim, you have to change trains at Rawang, KL Sentral and Seremban.
Thank you for clarifying.
If I take the ETS from Bandar Tasik Selatan to Ipoh, which platform do I use to board the train?
Board it from the normal KTM Komuter northbound platform towards Batu Caves.
Thanks for the info. I guessed as much.
I want to go jo jb sentral…how can I get there by train.thanks.
