RapidKL Sri Petaling Line Extension (Sri Petaling – Bandar Puteri)

The Rapid KL Sri Petaling Line Extension (formerly known as Ampang Line Extension) between Sri Petaling and Bandar Puteri is now open! The line commenced operations on 31 March 2016.

Part of the extension to Putra Heights which is expected to open in June 2016, the line begins from Sri Petaling via the extension to Kinrara BK5 which opened last year.

Passengers will still need to change trains at Sri Petaling station if travelling between the Sri Petaling Line and Sri Petaling Line Extension.

The extension to Bandar Puteri will use AMY as the rolling stock.

  1. the new system for Ampang Line, passengers have to alight at Chan Sow Lin to continue their journey to Masjid Jamek,
    How congestion it will be during peak hours.? how frequent will be Sri Petaling trains comes on time as now already Sri Petaling Line is FULL load. when reaches Hang Tuah station.

    1. In theory, by changing trains in Ampang, there will be double the capacity across the whole line as trains on the Ampang branch will be able to run twice as many trains, as there is no shared section between Chan Sow Lin and Sentul Timur.
