Engineered by Siemens AG and designed by BMW Group Designworks USA, the Siemens Inspiro, themed as “The Guiding Light” in the Klang Valley, was inspired by the various beautiful architectural features of Kuala Lumpur, and represents strong and solid character as well as modernity and timelessness.

The Siemens Inspiro’s interior design is visualised as an open environment that is inviting, light and fresh, incorporating long-lasting and easy to maintain colours with seats in cool blue tones that will alternate in a three tonality rhythm.

The Siemens Inspiro is OKU (disabled)-friendly, with 1 or 2 wheelchair spaces found on board all train cars. The wheelchair spaces double up as perch seats for standing passengers should it not be in use by an OKU passenger.

The Siemens Inspiro also features a gangway design which is actually more similar to the Siemens Modular Metro family.

Being a driverless train, the Siemens Inspiro features an inviting front view from the suburbs to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre for all passengers to enjoy.

LED screens are found on top of all doors, providing real-time information of the line information, door side opening and promotional videos.

“The Guiding Light” takes away the stresses of commuting by road, smoothly gliding over the highways and tolls. For a train fare (17 Jan 2016 onwards) comparable to the toll and parking fees, why not travel with the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line the next time you are in the vicinity?
