Pacific Express: Another Bus Ride from Hell

Pacific Express is one of the newer companies to operate independently to Singapore, but brings its bad habits overseas nonetheless. The only reason I took it was because it was around half the price as all other bus company tickets on Easybook on my day of departure, and I learnt that paying the usual standard price is actually a better idea.

I walked to the end of Golden Mile Complex trying to find the office to “check-in”, but couldn’t find Pacific Express. Only when I actually read the address did I realise…

I Had the worst bus experience on Yakin Pacific Express for Malacca to Singapore on 26 June 2017!

The bus (27 seater and prices at S$35 per person) supposed to come and leave Hatten Hotel at 10am but ended up a 40 seater bus (old and with spoiled rail & leg supports and dripping Aircon) came at 3pm 5 hours delayed)! Despite of many phone calls with the Singapore office (+65 6291 6918), they would lie that the bus was coming and on the way from Singapore at 8am (2 hours to pick us up at 10am as we boooek!!) but it’s all lies !!

The worst is that the 40-seater bus is not going to Singapore directly as booked, but it will stop in JB and we need to change into another bus!

I was told by a passenger that booked the same malacca – Singapore route that Pacific Expresss is having very bad reputation and cheating customers with high fare for 27 seater and express service but ended up offered cheap and lousy bus and many stop services !!

The particular 40 seater bus is WLC 6403 and contracter by Yakin pacific express. This bus besides picking up the passengers that paid SGD35 per pax, it also picks up 30 over new passengers along the way from Malaca to JB!!

This is clearly a day light robbery and the singapore office never responded to any calls after 1pm, leaving all passengers that boooked the 10am luxury bus at their mercy without help!

I would report this case to the CASE of Singapore and such bus company should not be allowed to operate from And to singpore!!

I went to Malacca over the Hari Raya Haji weekend, Sept 1 – 3. Booked two tickets from Yakin Pacific Express through easybook. Schedule to leave at 11 am to Hotel Equatorial.

Left on Sept 1 at 11.00 am from Golden Mile Complex. Bus number KDS 3111. It left on time , well and good.

When we arrived at Malacca the driver dropped us at Malacca Sentral saying that he has to bring 7 passengers to Kuala Lumpur. But 18 of us have to find our way from Malacca Sentral. This is bad. The company have to take action on the driver.

As if the outboard journey is not bad enough the bus did not turn up on our return journey. 5 of us waited for an hour at Hotel Equatorial. Our bus was supposed to turn up at 10.00 am. All of us were at the hotel lobby at 9.30 am which the bus company has notified us. One of us checked with the hotel concierge and was advised to take a bus from Malacca Sentral. According to the concierge this “no show” by the bus is a frequent occurrence.

The irresponsible act of the company has caused many of us to incur additional cost for taxi trip to Malacca Sentral, to purchase bus ticket from Malacca to Singapore, not able to get a refund and most of all caused much inconvenience. I called the company the following day and gave my order and invoice number to claim the unused return ticket and the additional return bus ticket and taxi fare. A gentleman took down all the information and promised to take this up with the lady boss who is away in Kuantan and return on Sept 7. Till today (Sept 8) I have not heard from him and I called their office several times. No one answer the phone.

For one such round trip, 23 passengers were affected. And most of them decide to remain silent.

Case should look into this matter as there are many complaints in other websites on this company.
