Go Genting Express Bus from Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex to Pudu Sentral by Bus

NOTE: This journey was made when the Awana SkyWay was closed for maintenance.

Only one (1) SkyWay will operate at any point of time with the Awana SkyWay being the main SkyWay and the Genting SkyWay being the “backup” SkyWay.

Buses go to EITHER the Awana Bus Terminal for the Awana SkyWay or Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex for the Genting SkyWay at any one point of time, depending on which SkyWay is in operation. In the rare event that both SkyWays are out of service, the Go Genting Express Bus will head directly to First World Hotel at Resorts World Genting at no extra charge.

I opted to go to Pudu Sentral only because I wanted to write this blog post – Gombak or KL Sentral would have been more convenient for me. But I had some time to kill off anyway, so here goes.

If you haven’t got a ticket yet, the bus ticket counter at the Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex is located beside the Genting SkyWay counter on Level 1 and NOT at the bus boarding area at Basement 4. The counter there is for information and internal use only.

After getting your ticket, head back onto Level 3 to take the lift to Basement 4.

Signs like this are pasted along the route, though not very well visible.

Alternatively, follow the original signs which are now taped up since the move to the Awana SkyWay.

While the lift says the ticketing counters are on Level 1, do not choose it as it only leads you to the car park. You have to go to Level 3 and then get the escalator down to Level 1 on another side of the building.

Boarding areas for buses at Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex:

Area 1: Go Genting to Pudu Sentral
Area 2: Go Genting to KL Sentral
Area 3: Go Genting to 1 Utama
Area 7: Go Genting to Gombak LRT Station & AeroBus to Pekeliling / KLIA & klia2

My pre-purchased ticket to Pudu Sentral.

The bus to Pudu Sentral ready for boarding.

A staff member inspects the tickets just before boarding.

While tickets are usually just torn in the middle as a mark of inspection, this guy decided to tear off the entire right portion of my ticket instead.

Heading back to KL with the LPT.

Exiting the toll to KL.

Nothing says “Welcome to KL” better than an arch and a traffic jam.

Passing by the Semantan tunnel portal to the underground sections of the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line.

Approaching Hang Tuah with the KL Tower and KLCC in sight.

Entering Pudu Sentral.

Arrived at Pudu Sentral with the bus ready immediately for the next departure.

The Go Genting Express Bus arrives and departs from Platform P1 & P2 of Pudu Sentral, just beside the Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia. Pudu Sentral is connected to Plaza Rakyat LRT Station for onward transport.

To get your tickets from Pudu Sentral, head up to the ticketing counters through the steps in the middle of the terminal.

The Go Genting Express Bus counter is the first counter on your left. It is wise to pre-purchase your tickets as buses with good timings do sell out, resulting in a long wait for the next available bus.
