The Lokal Bandung Raya is a series of frequent commuter trains plying the Padaralang – Bandung – Cicalengka route, with some trains even serving Purwakarta and Cibatu towards the start and end of the service day. Trains depart on average once or twice per hour to either terminals.
Tickets can be purchased from dedicated Go Show counters for local trains at Bandung station.
Tickets for local trains are open for sale 7 days before departure (H-7), but getting tickets on the spot for immediate departure on a Sunday wasn’t a problem. Tickets for local trains can only be purchased for journeys originating at the station of purchase.
My ticket for the 6-minute journey to Ciroyom. Flat fares of Rp.5,000 (~S$0.49) apply for the Lokal Bandung Raya regardless of distance travelled.

The Lokal Bandung Raya operates with Ekonomi AC (Lokal) coaches with a capacity of 106 passengers per coach.
The wider benches of seats are meant for 3 passengers.
Despite the subsidized fares, air-conditioning and power sockets are available for passengers.
The Ekonomi AC (Lokal) coaches are more than 50 years old but are still in good operating condition. This particular coach is manufactured in 1966.
