Ubon Ratchathani Songthaew Route 11 from Ubon Ratchathani Bus Terminal to Ubon Ratchathani City Centre by Songthaew

After researching on access to Pakse and other buses from the Ubon Ratchathani Bus Terminal, it was time to head into the city to explore with the little time I had left. With the rather cheap and comfortable ride from the Ubon Ratchathani Railway Station earlier on, I decided that it was reasonable enough to head back to the city by Songthaew again, this time by Songthaew Route 11.

The Songthaew sheltered waiting area is just in front of the taxi stand, away from the main terminal building.

Look out for the many Songthaews that will pull up. Once the Songthaew Route 11 was next, I walked up to the Songthaew and boarded it.

The Songthaew Route 11 took a slightly different route into the city, stopping at more points around the Ubon Ratchathani Bus Terminal first.

Making a brief stop by the side of the Ubon Ratchathani Nakhonchai Air Bus Terminal.

Making a brief stop at a Daiso.

Making a brief stop at The Eastern University of Management and Technology.

Making a brief stop at Tesco Extra.

Turning into Uppalisan Road along the perimeter of Ubon Ratchathani International Airport and where the Wing Division 21 Air Division 2 is housed.

Turning into Phadaeng Road. This corner here might be the closest a Songthaew route may get to Ubon Ratchathani International Airport, which is still about 2km away from this junction.

Approaching downtown Ubon Ratchathani.

Passing by Ubon Ratchathani District Office opposite Thung Si Muang or the City Park.

Passing by Wat Si Ubon Rattanaram.

Once ready to alight, press the buzzer on the Songthaew’s roof to alert the driver. Note that the driver will stop immediately upon pressing the buzzer, so don’t press it too early.

Pay the flat fare of 10 Baht (~S$0.43) directly to the driver upon alighting, regardless of distance travelled on a single journey. The journey from Ubon Ratchathani Bus Terminal to Ubon Ratchathani City Centre took about 30 minutes.

Overall, another cheap, efficient and convenient service with a strong touch of local experience on board the Ubon Ratchathani Songthaew Route 11.
