Connolly Railway Station and Heuston Railway Station are the two main railway termini in Dublin. However, they are not connected on a through railway line on the Irish Rail network. However, the Luas Red Line offers a convenient direct link between the two stations, running through the city centre.

Connolly Luas stop has an infrequent service of around 15 minutes.

Many signs in and around the station point you to walk to Busaras to catch a frequent tram instead, which is just 3 minutes by foot away.

As the next tram out was departing in 1 minute, I touched in here instead. If I were to have missed this, the next tram would only depart in 15 minutes.

A ticket from Connolly Railway Station to Heuston Railway Station will cost €2.10 for a single and €3.70 for a return when purchased from the Ticket Vending Machine. By Leap Card, it would cost €1.54 for a single. With my 24 hour Leap Visitor Card, the Luas was included for unlimited rides within the valid period.
