From the flagship flight of Malaysia Airlines, it’s now back to reality on Malaysia Airlines’ most frequent international route, from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on Malaysia Airlines MH607, the last leg of this UK and Ireland holiday. From the Satellite Terminal, it’s a familiar Aerotrain ride over to the Main Terminal Building to catch the usual Boeing 737-800 back to Singapore.
The frequency of the Aerotrain.
On board the Aerotrain to get to the Main Terminal Building.
Heading off to the Main Terminal Building.
A Condor Boeing 767-300ER parked at a remote stand at KLIA Satellite Terminal. Condor operates low-cost flights between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Frankfurt, Germany. Hmm, perhaps I’d like to try it some day.
A Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 at KLIA Satellite Terminal. Aww, why couldn’t my ticket codeshare on this instead.
Disembarking from the Aerotrain.
Heading to the H gates.
No further changes to be made, my flight would be departing from Gate H4.
Thankfully, there wasn’t a crowd at security.
My boarding pass for my Malaysia Airlines MH607 flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, issued at London Heathrow Terminal 4.
Heading down to the gate hold room.
The gate hold room of Gate H4.
9M-MXH parked behind the second MARS gate would be taking me home on this last leg of the journey from Oxford.
Goodbye Singapore Airlines. See you later.
Queuing to get my boarding pass scanned to board.
Heading onto the aerobridge.
An almost parallel approach to the aircraft door on this MARS gate.
Boarding the plane.
Passing through the Business Class section of Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 737-800.
Passing through the Economy Class section of Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 737-800. Unfortunately, I was seated at the third last row of the aircraft.
The legroom on board Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 737-800.
The welcome screen of the IFE. Unfortunately, no headsets were provided for this short flight.
The view out of my window of KLIA.
Pushing back from the gate.
The safety video being played.
The cabin lights were dimmed to a blue hue for this evening take-off.
Heading to Runway 32R.
Finally, an aircraft shot of 9M-MAB, the Airbus A350-900 which took me from London to KL but haven’t had a chance for a photo since London.
The sunset behind KLIA.
Heading onto Runway 32R.
Goodbye KL. It was as if I just arrived. Oh wait.
Goodbye ERL, the train which I could only spot from the sky this time.
Looking down at Route 32, the main road linking Nilai and KLIA, and onwards to Banting.
The sunset from Malaysia Airlines MH607.
The cabin lights were changed to an orangey hue.
Heading on to Singapore.
As usual, a pack of peanuts and a pre-cupped orange juice were served.
Flying over Batam.
Flying past Tanjung Langsat.
Flying over Changi Beach.
Touched down in Changi Airport at 8.01pm – 24 minutes early.
The goodbye screen of the IFE.
Taxiing on South Cross over Airport Boulevard.
Passing by Terminal 4.
Entering Terminal 2.
Interesting, that’s pretty deep in.
Could it be?
YES! The aircraft parked at Gate E1, offering the shortest walk to immigration.
One of the last to be disembarking from the aircraft since I was in the third last row.
Passing through the Business Class section.
Disembarking via the aeorbridge.
With Gate E1 being the first gate of the pier, immigration was just up ahead.
Heading down for arrival immigration.
Collecting my bags from the nearest baggage belt at Belt 31 too.
As always, my bag was already waiting for me on the belt, so I was out in a flash.
Overall, a usual simple, no-frills journey from KL to Singapore, though this time it’s part of a long-haul ticket. This thus marks the end of my long-haul holiday. Thanks MH for the cheap fares and good long-haul service to and from London.
