After a bit of shopping in Bangkok in the city (because that what everyone does when in Bangkok right?), it’s time to head to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch my flight back to Singapore. Yup, my stop in Bangkok was pretty much purely for the SRT Eastern Line Ordinary 280 and to say that I travelled from Phnom Penh to Bangkok by train. This time, while waiting for the BTS like a normal passenger without any intention to take pictures or to write about this short leg which I’ve frequented so many times in my life, I saw a familiar new face coming into Chit Lom BTS Station.

The BTS Siemens Inspiro (EMU-A2) now runs across the entire BTS Sukhumvit Line as the Kheha Extension no longer acts as a shuttle but through services now operate throughout the line from Mo Chit to Kheha and back. I guess the entire line’s CBTC conversion has also been completed for this to happen.

The dynamic route map on the BTS Siemens Inspiro (EMU-A2) reflects the next stations very well.

At Siam, interchange information is also reflected on the dynamic route map, including the platform number to transfer to the relative terminal stations on the Sukhumvit Line and Silom Line.

This section is typically filled with passengers with luggage, as the most popular BTS section to connect with the Airport Rail Link City Line.

Here, I headed off to change to the Airport Rail Link City Line to get to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Overall, the BTS Siemens Inspiro (EMU-A2) is an excellent upgrade for the existing BTS Green Lines passing through the city where the crowd is at its peak, allowing for better passenger movement within the train cars, and to boost overall service frequency with these additional trains.
