Hotel Review: Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View • Unbelievable Value In Hong Kong Island During This Protest Period

Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View 001

Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View is a rather nice (read: expensive) hotel in Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island, on which on a normal day I wouldn’t even bother thinking about staying there due to the prices. I had earlier reserved myself in a budget hotel on Kowloon about 3 months prior to my trip which provides be just sufficient space to lie down, but turns out that Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View is offering rates lower than what I had reserved in the Kowloon budget Hotel when closer to my travel date.

I booked my budget Kowloon hotel on agoda which allowed free cancellations and a Pay Later option, so that means I don’t even need to wait for a refund since I haven’t paid in the first place. Without hesitation, I decided to cancel my budget Kowloon hotel reservation and upgrade my lifestyle at the same time literally saving money while at it.

Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View is accessible by Sai Ying Pun MTR Station Exit A1.

The desks on the ground floor are just a concierge and security. The check-in lobby is on the 5th floor.

Heading to check in for my unintentionally luxurious stay at the Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View.

For only S$34.41 a night (!!!), this is what I got. Yes, the Superior Mountain View Room is small by regular standards, but I feel that this is quite big for Hong Kong Island standards already.

A menu of room service dishes and the buffet breakfast are advertised in the room, most items of which are more expensive than one room night.

The usual Hong Kong compact toilet in the room. The bath tub can fit in half a person comfortably.

For obvious reasons, I just used the standing shower in the bath tub. The water pressure was great at the 28th floor.

The switches of the room. Unfortunately, I couldn’t adjust the air-conditioning even after pressing all the buttons, so the room was a little warmer than expected, but still survivable. At least I won’t get a problem of a frosted camera in the morning.

The night view of the mountains from my Superior Mountain View Room. Not saying that I support the attacks, but I think I can see and understand why the problem has exploded.

Overall, an amazing stay at Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View with the ridiculously low price, cheaper than budget Kowloon hotels. I’m not sure if the rates will remain the same from now on, as from a business stand point, the next step might be to close down some hotels now that almost no tourists are visiting Hong Kong any more.
