Shuttle Tebrau 93dn: Johor Bahru Sentral to Woodlands CIQ by Train

The Shuttle Tebrau is a highly popular mode of transport between Woodlands CIQ and Johor Bahru Sentral, with tickets selling out in 15 seconds, 30 days before departure at 8.30am for the most popular train despite the high fares based on distance travelled. For this occasion, on a super peak weekend, I decided to camp early online to purchase my Shuttle Tebrau 93dn ticket, the second-last train of the day, so I can connect with my Nice++ bus from KL with a little bit of buffer time to enter back to Singapore peacefully.

I arrived from the Maju Bus Service JB City Square slightly before 9.00pm, and the queue at Gate A had already formed.

Mind the gap.

The Shuttle Tebrau 93dn departed from JB Sentral at 9.34pm – 4 minutes late, due to 26106 Tanjung Jara taking up the line to round engine.

There was no jam on the Causeway itself with no buses, which only means one thing – there are no buses to ferry people across and everyone is stuck in a backlogged jam from JB Sentral. Glad I’m on the Shuttle Tebrau on this super peak Sunday night.

The Shuttle Tebrau 93dn arrived at Woodlands CIQ at 9.40pm – 5 minutes late, with the delay in travel time due to a caution of 15km/h just before entering the station.

Overall, another quick and jiffy trip on the Shuttle Tebrau, escaping the Causeway jams.

  1. So much for Singapore’s claim for technological superiority over Malaysia. State of the art automated system JB-Singapore and still in the stone age ( relatively ) Singapore-JB.

    1. You do realise that both processes are implemented by the same railway company right? Also in Singapore, we have something called PDPA.
