Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Thamrin is a premium hotel among almost all other hotels within the new Dukuh Atas TOD in the heart of Jakarta’s Central Business District (CBD), which integrates the Sudirman KRL Station, BNI City Railink Station, Dukuh Atas BNI MRT Station and Tosari Busway Halt in one central area. It is also the first Holiday Inn Express hotel to open in Jakarta. On a short trip with lower airfares this time round, I opted to splurge a bit more on my hotel in Jakarta, topped off with a very generous late check-out of 4pm.
The Dukuh Atas BNI MRT Station entrance is just steps away from Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Thamrin.
The Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Thamrin is behind Smart Hotel Thamrin Jakarta which I stayed in before.

Check-in was done seamlessly, and I was warmly welcomed by the front desk staff by name.
My personalised welcome letter received during check-in.
A bit of an awkward key card slot positioning in the elevator, when the key card slot to activate the lift buttons are located on the opposite side of the door from the buttons.
The welcoming bed in my Queen Standard Non Smoking room.
The TV and desk area of the Queen Standard Non Smoking room.
Two bottles of water are provided, along with coffee and tea making facilities.
The power sockets provided by the desk were universal outlets, so I didn’t need to use my converter.
The view out of my room, towards UOB Plaza.
The bedside table has an in-house phone, an alarm clock for charging older Apple phones, and the TV remote and channels guide.
The toilet is beside the entrance to the room.
The sink area of the toilet, with a soap dispenser provided for hand soap.
Toiletries are provided on the sink counter.
The toilet bowl comes with a Japanese-style eco-washer.
Towels are provided on the rack above the toilet bowl.
The attached standing shower.
The shower is touted as a “power shower” just like Tune Hotels, but unfortunately only one of the three settings was reasonably powerful.
A 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash is provided in a dispenser.
The next day, a buffet breakfast is served in the Great Room. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
There is a hot buffet section, also known as the Express Start Breakfast, with a mix of western and Indonesian food.
There is also a Grab & Go area to pick up a muffin, fruit and drink if you are in a rush.
My small selection of western options from both the Express Start Breakfast and Grab & Go section.
There is sufficient seating in the Great Room for the guests.
There is also a bar counter area facing out, with power sockets to charge up your devices.
Check-out was also fuss-free at a very generous 4pm late check-out, with a goodbye addressed by name as well.
Overall, a very pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Thamrin, and if my budget allows for it, I’ll definitely be back again.
