KL Sentral Shower Room Alternative • PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe

Ever since the KL Sentral Shower Room was found to be more or less confirmed to be shut for good in October 2017 with all signs on the door to the shower room removed, things got slightly inconvenient for my day trips to KL since there’s no proper way to freshen up in the morning. However, I’ve found quite a suitable alternative in the area without that much of a cost difference at PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur.

PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur is on the KL Monorail side of KL Sentral ie. Brickfields.

Walk through the path beside ABC Bistro Cafe.

Continue straight.

Turn right at the first cross junction in front of Hotel Sentral.

PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur is the last unit of the building on the left. Look out for the green signs.

Walk through the Cafe is front to get to the reception.

Approach the receptionist* at the reception desk to get your shower.

*Receptionist is in red behind the TV in this picture. She’s there.

A hot shower at PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur costs RM10 nett inclusive of towel rental and simple body soap provided in the shower cubicles. The shower is available 24 hours.

Towel rental now costs RM5, making it a total of RM15 if you need a towel or RM10 if you have your own towel.

(For reference, the defunct KL Sentral Shower Room charged RM7 for a cold shower of similar services of soap and towel provided.)

Head up to the 1st Floor to the Shower Room.

In case you need it, this is the sign to the to the Shower Room.

The shower area in PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur is cleaner than the defunct KL Sentral Shower Room. Also, a water heater is available as compared to the cold water showers in the defunct KL Sentral Shower Room. Two shower cubicles are available.

The toilet here in PODs The Backpackers Home & Cafe, Kuala Lumpur is also much cleaner than almost all toilets in KL Sentral. Two toilet cubicles are available.

If you’re looking for a place to freshen up around KL Sentral, this might be the ideal place to go to at not much of a price difference. (The defunct KL Sentral Shower Room charged RM7 for a cold shower of similar services of soap and towel provided.)
