Kranji Countryside Express • Shuttle Bus From Kranji MRT Station to Kranji & Lim Chu Kang Farms (Defunct)

The Kranji Countryside Express shuttle bus was a daily paid shuttle bus around Sungei Buloh and the Kranji Countryside which includes farms around Kranji and Lim Chu Kang, connecting non-drivers to the Kranji Countryside via Kranji MRT Station for convenient access via the North South MRT Line.

The Kranji Countryside Express shuttle bus served Kranji Village, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Nyee Phoe (Gardenasia), Kranji Marshes, Bollywood Veggies, Thong Hup Gardens, Hay Dairies Goat Farm, and Jurong Frog Farm.

While the bus service is known as the Kranji Countryside Express, do take the “express” part with a pinch of salt as it serves many destinations within a small area, so the speed isn’t that fast, and the geographical route is slightly overlapping.

The Kranji Countryside Express Bus has ceased operations since 1 January 2021.

The new NParks Pilot Loop Shuttle Bus Service serves Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Wetland Centre, and Kranji Marshes from Kranji MRT Station. Click here for more details.

Thong Hup Gardens

Hay Dairies Goat Farm – Bus Stop 34011 Opp Lim Chu Kang Lane 4

Another popular stop is Hay Dairies, Singapore’s only goat farm since 1988. And because it’s so popular, there’s massive jam of cars along Lim Chu Kang Lane 4 by everyone trying to get here. As such, the Kranji Countryside Express bus stops at Bus Stop 34011 Opp Lim Chu Kang Lane 4, and passengers for Hay Dairies walk in around 300 meters to Hay Dairies.

Kranji MRT Station

A familiar sight when coming back from Johor Bahru.

The Kranji Countryside Express bus arrives back at Kranji MRT Station Bus Stop Berth 3.

Overall, a good bus link through Kranji Countryside with the Kranji Countryside Express shuttle bus.

Unfortunately, the average frequency of 90 minutes currently is left more to be desired with a lot more people venturing around Singapore out of boredom to rediscover what Singapore has to offer, and on top of having a super full bus with standing room only, many passengers are left stranded for the next 90 minutes at bus stops after Bollywood Veggies, which isn’t very pleasant to be literally left out in the wilderness.

Kranji Countryside Association needs to seriously consider getting a bigger bus if possible, or to increase the frequency of minibuses plying the route at least on weekends to better cater to the crowds on their SingapoRediscovers adventure. Perhaps a shortworking trip for bus stops after Bollywood Veggies and Kranji MRT Station can help in clearing the stranded crowds too.

The new NParks Pilot Loop Shuttle Bus Service serves Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Wetland Centre, and Kranji Marshes from Kranji MRT Station. Click here for more details.
