KTM Komuter

KTM Komuter • Malaysia KTM Komuter Train Timetable & Schedule

KTM Komuter provides all-stop local commuter rail services across KTM‘s electrified double track sectors, primarily linking the suburbs to and from the city centre. The KTM Komuter was first introduced in 1995 as Malaysia’s first electric train service.

KTM Komuter train services operate on the following networks. Please click the individual sector’s links to view the system information and timetable.

KTM Komuter Northern Sector

The KTM Komuter Northern Sector provides local all-stop train services on the Northern Corridor Economic Region in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak, with trains running on the Butterworth-Padang Besar Line and Butterworth-Ipoh Line.

KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector

The KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector is the backbone of the Klang Valley, providing frequent train services to the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Trains run on the Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang (Tampin) Line and Tanjung Malim-Pelabuhan Klang Line, with both lines sharing the sector between Putra and Sentral Kuala Lumpur.

KTM Komuter Southern Sector

The KTM Komuter Southern Sector is a future KTM Komuter network which will provide local all-stop train services in the state of Johor, with trains running on the Gemas-Paloh Line and JB Sentral-Paloh Line upon completion of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP) on 21 April 2025.

KTM Komuter Missing Links

Aside from the 3 KTM Komuter networks listed above, RailTravel Station has 2 additional guides on the electrified double track sectors which do not currently have KTM Komuter local train services.

The KTM Komuter Missing Links are a term coined by RailTravel Station and in no way suggests a potential KTM Komuter service on this sector. It describes fixing the missing links by bus, making it a cheaper option to travel short-haul or suggests a potential connection from the current terminals of the KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector.

KTM Komuter Perak Missing Link

The KTM Komuter Perak Missing Link is the sector along the West Coast electrified double-track line between Ipoh and Tanjung Malim which is currently not served by the KTM Komuter, and Tasek where trains do not stop.

KTM Komuter Melaka-Johor Missing Link

The KTM Komuter Melaka-Johor Missing Link is the sector south of the electrified double-track line between Padang Besar and Pulau Sebang (Tampin) which is currently not served by the KTM Komuter, which is between Pulau Sebang (Tampin) and JB Sentral in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor states.
