KTM Berhad Reinstates AFC First Class Coach On Ekspres Rakyat Timuran

KTM Berhad has reinstated the AFC (Air-conditioned First Class) coach on all Ekspres Rakyat Timuran trains from now until 31 December 2021. I have searched on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) for this on Tuesday, 2 November 2021.

This comes after multiple searches on KITS on various days observing that the AFC coach had been removed on all trains from 5 November 2021 onwards. 

AFC First Class Coach available on Ekspres Rakyat Timuran again

On my daily check of the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) to look out for the AFC, I noticed that the total number of seats available on 3 November 2021 had increased.

True enough, an empty AFC coach with 36 seats is now available for the Ekspres Rakyat Timuran on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS).

Contrary to Facebook comments about the AFC being on low demand and expensive, the AFC coach for 3 November 2021, Deepavali Eve, is COMPLETELY FULL on a very full Ekspres Rakyat Timuran.

On 4 November 2021, Deepavali, the AFC is also more than half full with the original 3 ADNS second class sleeper coaches sold out (except the extra coach which will be mentioned below. This is despite the ASC second class seat coaches being generally only half full or less.

On top of this reinstatement, KTM has also added more ASC and ADNS coaches during this Deepavali  peak period from Wednesday, 3 November 2021 to Sunday, 7 November 2021. Coach T5X (ASC) and Coach T9 (ADNS) are available now on the KITS.

This brings the total number of coaches on the Ekspres Rakyat Timuran Deepavali period trains to 10 – 1 AFC, 5 ASC, and 4 ADNS.

Probability #2

Referring to my hypotheses from my previous post on the removal of the AFC coach from the Ekspres Rakyat Timuran, it seems that Probability #2 was the reason.
