Rapid KL Bus Service 772 from Subang Airport to KL Sentral

Rapid KL Bus Service 772 is a trunk bus service plying between Subang Suria Mah Sing and Pasar Seni, via Subang Airport and KL Sentral.

The next leg of my KTM Komuter joyride needed me to get to Batu Caves. Yes, weird routing, but backtracking like this actually matches up better with the previous infrequent KTM Komuter timetable to save on waiting time.

With 2 buses available serving Subang Airport, I crossed the road to see if Rapid KL Bus Service 772 or MRT Feeder Bus T804 would appear first.

Opposite Subang Skypark Terminal

The bus stop code for the bus stop opposite Subang Airport is SA904 Subang Skypark Terminal (Opp). However, there is no actual bus stop sign. You have to be in the know to know that the bus will stop here.

I waited for about 10 minutes for my Rapid KL Bus Service 772. Yes, this is the official bus stop.

And hello to Rapid KL’s new Volvo B8L.

Rapid KL buses do not accept cash. I used my Touch ‘n Go card to board. Cashless fares are 20% off the cash fare, which is weird since cash is not accepted, so it’s a default discount for everybody who’s not on My50.

The empty upper deck which invited me to take the bus all the way to KL Sentral, instead of dropping off at Ara Damansara LRT Station just ahead.

Sitting here gives me the Tower Transit Bus Service 969 feels with an expressway route on a Gemilang-bodied double-decker bus. The interior is almost the same too.

A route map is displayed on the on-board information screens, though the bus stop names can be a bit too generic.

Making a brief stop at Ara Damansara LRT Station. Since there wasn’t much traffic jam ahead, I decided to stay on board Rapid KL Bus Service 772 all the way to KL Sentral, rather than transferring to the LRT Kelana Jaya Line here.

Someone pressed the bell, and I was surprised at the text that lit up in front of the bus. Loceng Telah Ditekan literally means Bell Has Been Pressed.

So… Is the bus stopping?

Approaching NU Sentral, I pressed the bell. The text flashed in front of the bus and on the screens confirmed that I have pressed the bell.

The screen then adds another rotating text saying Bas Akan Berhenti or Bus Stopping.

The Rapid KL Bus Service 772 ride from Subang Airport to KL Sentral took 29 minutes.

Help. How am I supposed to recommend the SkyPark Link now?

Rapid KL Bus Service 772 has frequent departures, costed me RM2, and took me 75% of the time needed than my onward journey from KL Sentral to Subang Airport. No wonder the SkyPark Link runs empty all the time.

As I arrived at KL Sentral at 11.33am, I had just missed the 11.31am train to Batu Caves.

But no problem, I wasn’t expecting to even reach KL Sentral so early, and had already planned to catch a Grab to Batu Caves for the next joyride route. The extra time at KL Sentral allowed me to visit the Touch ‘n Go hub at NU Sentral to get refunds for my expired Touch ‘n Go cards impacted by my missing frequent visits to Malaysia for almost 2 years.
