Tune Hotel Kota Bharu City Centre is one of the first Tune Hotels opened by the budget hotel chain. While it’s located away from the actual main part of Kota Bharu, Tune Hotel Kota Bharu City Centre is nearer to Wakaf Bharu Railway Station and is just beside KB Mall and a short bus or Grab ride away from AEON or TESCO.

Heading into the lobby to check-in.
Check-in was fuss-free since Tune Hotel now offers all-in rates – no more purchasing frills in the room separately, other than the late check-out I wanted which can’t be done online any more.
Heading into my booked Twin Room, the key card slot was still the original Tune Hotels one with the various timers for air-conditioning, hairdryer and TV, but everything was keyed as 24 hours now.

The view of the surroundings from my window.
The windows can still be opened as the rooms were built for natural ventilation as well if you decide to just use the free fan instead of paying for aircon back then.
The entrance to KB Mall was just in front of my room.
Looking back at the room corridor with a side table and hanger bar.
A full-width mirror is fitted in the room to make it look bigger, along with two advertising panels.
The ceiling fan still in operation. This actually helps to cool down the room rapidly together with the aircon.
No Tony, Tune Hotel Danga Bay, Johor Bahru is not Singapore. Though I think this is a pretty ancient advertisement.
Yup, definitely old advertisements here.
A side table and in-room safe is placed between the two single beds.
Towels are now placed in the room instead of collecting them in a bag from the front desk upon check-in.
The room comes with a single hanger.
The door to the toilet.
A sitting toilet with a bidet spray is provided.
The sink at the side, along with the hairdryer.
Generic soap is now provided instead of the previous Tune Hotels branding. Hmm, those bar soap look familiar.
The standing shower in the toilet. The water pressure was excellent.
To get to the old Kota Bharu town around the Cityliner Kota Bharu Bus Station, many parallel bus services stop just in front of Tune Hotel Kota Bharu City Centre, all heading to Kota Bharu Bus Station. Click here for bus route information.
Overall, a pleasant stay at Tune Hotel Kota Bharu City Centre with a comfortable room size for one and convenient location to wherever I needed to go.
