KTM ETS Service Extends to Segamat on 15 March 2025
The Electric Train Service (ETS) will be extended to Segamat Railway Station in Johor starting 15 March 2025. The Segamat ETS service will operate as an extension of existing ETS Gold Gemas routes, namely the Butterworth – Segamat and Padang Besar – Segamat sectors. Segamat Railway Station is one of 11 stations in the Gemas – Johor Bahru Electrified Double-Track Project (PLBEGJB), which is expected to be fully completed this year. The ETS service will extend in phases according to the progress of the ongoing project.
Tickets will be available through the KTMB Mobile (KITS) application, ticket kiosk machines, or on KTMB’s official website starting 12 March 2025 (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated, “This is great news for ETS passengers, especially Segamat residents, who can now enjoy ETS journeys to Kuala Lumpur and up to Padang Besar, Perlis. With modern and highly attractive facilities, this service will greatly benefit the local community and enhance inter-state connectivity and local economies.”
“As Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, the extension of ETS service to Segamat provides a more comfortable transportation option for people returning to their hometowns. Given the limited number of tickets available, KTMB urges the public to book tickets as soon as possible,” he added.
The new Segamat Railway Station, which began operations on 15 May 2024, offers various modern amenities for user comfort. These include lifts, escalators, toilets, closed-circuit television (CCTV) for security, prayer rooms, and parking spaces for 97 cars and 49 motorcycles. The station is also disabled-friendly, with special facilities such as toilets and parking to ensure comfort and convenience for all users.
KTMB hopes that residents around Segamat will not miss the opportunity to experience the ETS train and encourages early trip planning and ticket purchases. Tickets can be obtained through the KITS application, KTMB’s official website at www.ktmb.com.my, or at KTMB ticket kiosk machines for customers’ convenience.
