Ipoh Railway Station
Ipoh Railway Station is a railway station located in Ipoh, the capital city of Perak Darul Ridzuan. Due to its location in the heart of Ipoh town, train travel is preferred by locals and tourists alike when travelling in and out of Ipoh as the main bus station, Terminal Meru Raya (Ipoh Amanjaya), is located 10km north of the city. Ipoh Railway Station is affectionately known as the Taj Mahal of Ipoh by locals.
While the station hotel, Majestic Hotel, closed in 2010, it is undergoing a redevelopment to become the Grand Majestic Hotel which is slated to reopen in 2023.
Ipoh Railway Station is one of two railway stations along the Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrified Double Tracking Project to retain the original station building as part of the upgraded system.
