KTM Komuter Malacca-Johore Missing Link (Pulau Sebang (Tampin)–JB Sentral) Pautan Hilang KTM Komuter Melaka-Johor

KTM Komuter Malacca-Johore Missing Link Parallel Stage Bus Routes to KTM Railway Line

KTM Komuter Malacca-Johore Missing Link is the sector south of the electrified double-track line between Padang Besar and Pulau Sebang (Tampin) which is currently not served by the KTM Komuter, which is between Pulau Sebang (Tampin) and JB Sentral in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor states.

The KTM Komuter Malacca-Johore Missing Link is a term coined by RailTravel Station and in no way suggests a potential KTM Komuter service on this sector. It describes fixing the missing links by bus, making it a cheaper option to travel short-haul or suggests a potential connection from the current terminals of the KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector.

Malaysian Buses

Bas Muafakat Johor (BMJ) is a series of free local bus services funded by the Johor State Government and Local Authorities operating throughout Johor for Malaysians only. BMJ is not included in this guide as not all members of the public are allowed to use the BMJ service. Foreigners are not allowed to board any BMJ buses even if foreigners are willing to pay.

KTM Komuter Southern Sector

KTM Komuter Southern Sector, also known as the Komuter Selatan, is a future KTM Komuter network which will provide local all-stop train services in the state of Johor on the KTM Southern Line, with trains running on the JB Sentral-Paloh Line and Kempas Baru-Pasir Gudang Line upon completion of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP) at a date to be fixed.

The KTM Komuter Southern Sector was first officially announced by Malaysia Minister of Transport YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook on 14 March 2024, with services to be launched on 21 April 2025 running on the Gemas-Paloh Line and JB Sentral-Paloh Line.

On 7 January 2025, Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke announced that the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP) was “on track for completion” by the third quarter of 2025. Bernama

On 22 July 2025, outgoing GCEO YBhg. Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham announced that the Kempas Baru-Pasir Gudang Line will be the starting point for the Komuter Selatan, aligned with the completion of the RTS to help disperse passengers along the north-south travel corridor. In the long run upon completion of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP), the electrified Komuter Selatan service may operate between Paloh and JB Sentral (JB Sentral-Paloh Line) alongside the higher-speed ETS. There is no more mention of the Gemas-Paloh Line. The Straits Times

It is currently not known when the KTM Komuter Southern Sector service will officially be launched.

This KTM Komuter Melaka-Johor Missing Link stage bus guide will be rationalised upon the opening of the KTM Komuter Southern Sector.
