Osaka Metro Midosuji Line from Umeda to Namba Train Review

Osaka Metro Midosuji Line from Umeda to Namba is the most congested sector of the Osaka Metro with the straight trunk route under Midosuji Avenue, making it very useful for many commuters. Heading to Namba for some last minute shopping from Osaka Station, I took Osaka Metro Midosuji Line as it was the fastest way to travel from Umeda to Namba, even if I had to pay for an additional ticket.

Umeda Station

As I was going to be travelling on a single ticket, I headed to the ticket machines to buy a ticket.

The journey from Umeda to Namba costed me 230 yen. The fare has since increased to 240 yen.

And here comes my Osaka Metro Midosuji Line after about 2 minutes of waiting.

I will just be taking the short but high-demand sector from Umeda to Namba.

Namba Station

The Osaka Metro Midosuji Line train journey from Umeda to Namba takes just 7 minutes.

This train will continue on to Tennoji and Nakamozu.

Normal passengers can head through the ticket gates. The single ticket will be eaten by the machine when exiting.

As I wanted to keep my ticket as a souvenir, I headed through the manned lane to get a stamp on my ticket to invalidate it.

Namba Walk

Osaka Metro Midosuji Line Namba Station is directly connected to Namba Walk, the shopping network of underpasses with exits up to various points of interests in Namba and Dotonbori.

The underpass network is divided into 5 sections based on the train stations.

Dotonbori

Dotonbori can be closest accessed by Exit 14.

Dotonbori is where the famous Glico running man is.

Don Quijote Dotonbori is also just ahead.
