Depending on how you look at it, this can be convenient or confusing as the 2 train companies share 1 station and the track in and out of Kankūjima, the island on which Kansai International Airport sits on.

The JR West section is the one further out from Terminal 1 with blue headings, which means, you have to walk past the Nankai Electric Railway section to the JR West section.

The JR Ticket Office is clearly marked with a huge sign bigger than the door to the ticket office. There is also a box writing “RAIL PASS” in English if all else fails.

If taking the JR trains from JR Kansai Airport Station, ensure that you enter the blue JR gates at Gate B to get to the JR platform.

If all else fails, when you try to put in your JR ticket into the Nankai Railway ticket gate, it will reject it, so that’s a hint that you are at the wrong train company’s gate.
