Heading back to the Main Jetty after my Chek Jawa Wetlands visit, I hopped on the Pulau Ubin Taxi Van Service once again as agreed with Ah Beh on the onward trip. The Pulau Ubin Taxi Van Service is the island’s only motorized form of public transport. While many would opt for rental bicycles to get around Pulau Ubin, the taxi van is actually not that expensive when you are in a group, and would actually make the island tour a lot less tiring than if you were to walk or cycle everywhere.
The Punai Hut sits outside the main entrance of Chek Jawa Wetlands, acting as the waiting point for the Pulau Ubin Taxi Van Service.

Heading back to the Main Jetty.
Along the way, Ah Beh stopped at the Balai Quarry for us to take some photos.
The Balai Quarry is located on the one-way earth track route out of Chek Jawa Wetlands.

The 3.1km taxi van ride from Chek Jawa Wetlands to Pulau Ubin Main Jetty took about 10 minutes.
The taxi van fare from Pulau Ubin Main Jetty to Chek Jawa Wetlands costs S$12 for a one-way trip and S$24 for a return trip. This fare is valid for the first 6 passengers ie. 1 to 6 passengers per trip. For the 7th passenger onwards, it will cost an additional S$2 per passenger per way.
After dropping us off, Ah Beh went a little bit further to park his taxi van outside his house.
Overall, a pleasant experience on the Pulau Ubin Taxi Van Service with Ah Beh, offering a different kind of private-public transport not commonly found on Mainland Singapore any more.
