Sleeper buses are popular in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos as they offer you an angled seat comfortable enough to sleep and by travelling through the night, you get to save on accommodation.
As there is a break in the railway between Thailand and Vietnam, the Vinh – Vientiane Sleeper Bus is the shortest northeastern missing link between the Laos (Thanaleng/Dongphosy), Thailand and Malaysia railway and the rest of the network in Vietnam, China and beyond based on closest main stations.
The journey from Vinh, Vietnam to Vientiane, Laos takes approximately 12 hours.
From Vinh, you can continue your journey northwards to Hanoi by train, bookable at 12Go Asia or Baolau, so you need not have to endure a straight 24-hour bus ride from Vientiane to Hanoi.
