Butterworth Overrun Komuter Train Removal Works Completed, Station Operations Fully Restored
KTM Berhad confirms that an incident occurred involving a six-car Komuter train set (SCS03) which overran to the end of the track at Platform 4, Butterworth Railway Station at 6.01 am today.
The train in question was empty, with no passengers on board, and was undertaking routine operational movement. No injuries or casualties have been reported.
KTMB’s technical team arrived at the location immediately after the incident, and recovery operations for the train set are actively underway to ensure the area’s safety and the smooth running of station operations.
All passenger train services at Butterworth Railway Station continue as usual using Platforms 1, 2, and 3. Platform 4 has been temporarily closed to facilitate repair works and safety inspections.
Passengers at Butterworth Railway Station are advised to comply with all safety instructions issued by station staff to ensure smooth transit and the safety of all parties.
