Singaporeans Do Not Need To Register To Use Malaysia JB Autogate Any More
Singapore passport holders no longer require registration to utilize the electronic gate (e-gate) facilities at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (from Woodlands) for entry into Malaysia, as discovered on my trip to JB on 8 May 2024. All Singaporeans can now effortlessly access the JB Autogates without the need for application or registration. Simply walk through the Autogate and legally enter Malaysia in just 10 seconds.
The MACS 2.0 counter is now closed, and signs on the counter indicate for Singaporeans to simply walk in to the Autogate. There is also no need to fill up the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) prior to entry, as I have personally tried with my passport. All Singaporeans can now use the JB Autogates by default now without any application or registration. Simply walk in to the Autogate and be legally in Malaysia in 10 seconds.

This guide is for Singaporeans visiting as tourists only (Short Term Social Visit Pass). Malaysians can already use the autogate by default.
All other nationalities are not allowed to use the Malaysia immigration autogates at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (from Woodlands) and Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (from Tuas) yet, and must clear immigration at the manual counters.
Notably, there is no official announcement from the Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia) yet. This instant Autogate usage without registration for Singapore passport holders at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (from Woodlands) may be temporary or permanent.
The situation may also be different at Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (from Tuas) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). I have not been to either of these checkpoints yet as of 8 May 2024 to check out the situation.
Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) was first launched on 20 January 2023 as a prerequisite to allow Singapore passport holders to use the electronic gate (e-gate) facilities at the 2 land entry points in Johor Bahru at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (from Woodlands) and Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (from Tuas). Registration is FREE, easy and straightforward, and best done during an off-peak period for your first registration entry. This exclusive benefit for Singaporeans include clearing Malaysia immigration in about 15 seconds with no queues, and not needing to have your passport stamped, saving many passport pages for frequent travellers.
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) was still a prerequisite for Singaporeans from 1 January 2024 to use the immigration e-gates to enter Malaysia at the 2 land entry points in Johor Bahru at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (from Woodlands) and Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (from Tuas), and at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminals 1 and 2. While Singaporeans are exempted from filling up the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) from 1 January 2024, this is for entry and exit by manual counters only.
