Takamatsu Symbol Tower
The Takamatsu Symbol Tower is the tallest building in Shikoku at 151.3 meters high, located just beside JR Takamatsu Station. A free observation deck is available on the 30th floor for the public to visit. With a bit of time to spare before my next train, I headed up to Takamatsu Symbol Tower to take a look.

Takamatsu Symbol Tower can immediately be seen from JR Takamatsu Station.

The lift goes up to the 30th floor, where the Sky Restaurant is. This is the same lift and lobby as the ALICE IN TAKAMATSU French restaurant.

It’s a regular lift ride up to the 30th floor.

The viewing gallery is just at the lift lobby itself.

The view mainly faces west.

Looking down at JR Takamatsu Station from above.

The densely-populated Takamatsu.

Sea farms can be seen off the shores of Takamatsu.

There is a limited view of the south with just 1 angle, with the side of the Takamatsu Symbol Tower building blocking off the view on the left.
ALICE IN TAKAMATSU

ALICE IN TAKAMATSU was closed at the time of my visit. Dining in ALICE IN TAKAMATSU will get you the eastern view from Takamatsu Symbol Tower.

Once done, it’s a quick elevator ride back down to the first floor to head back to JR Takamatsu Station to catch my next Rapid Marine Liner 44 train back to Okayama.
Conclusion
The Takamatsu Symbol Tower Observation Deck is basic compared to other tower observation decks in Japan, and probably just a lift lobby with bigger windows, but it is a free activity to do in Takamatsu at no charge. A fuss-free attraction giving you a towering view of Takamatsu, without any tourist faff.
