KTM East Coast Line Train Service Disruption (11 April 2025) Ekspres Rakyat Timuran & DMU Shuttle Timuran Train Service Updates

The KTM East Coast Line is currently disrupted with the derailment of Ekspres Rakyat Timuran 27dn between Bukit Abu and Dabong on 11 April 2025. Here are the known train service disruption statuses from 11 April 2025 onwards for Ekspres Rakyat Timuran and Shuttle Timuran trains.

KTM Ekspres Rakyat Timuran Derails, Passengers and Crew Members Safe


11 April 2025 (Friday)

  • Ekspres Rakyat Timuran ERT26 (JB Sentral – Tumpat) which departed on 10 April will terminate at Gua Musang. Transshipment buses are provided from Gua Musang to Kuala Krai. Passengers will resume their journey from Kuala Krai to Tumpat by train.
  • Ekspres Rakyat Timuran ERT26 (JB Sentral – Tumpat) departing on 11 April will operate with a projected delay of 240 minutes and will start from Kempas Baru. A rail replacement train will be provided for passengers from JB Sentral to Kempas Baru.
  • Ekspres Rakyat Timuran ERT27 (Tumpat – JB Sentral) which departed on 10 April has derailed. The rear of the undisrupted train has been brought back to Kuala Krai with passengers. Rail replacement buses are provided from Kuala Krai to Gua Musang. Passengers have resumed their journey from Gua Musang to JB Sentral by train with a delay of 600 minutes. ERT27 (Tumpat – JB Sentral) which departed on 10 April will terminate at Kempas Baru and u-turn to form ERT26 with a projected delay of 240 minutes.
  • Ekspres Rakyat Timuran ERT27 (Tumpat – JB Sentral) departing on 11 April will operate as per normal.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH50 (Kuala Lipis – Gua Musang) will operate as per normal.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH51 (Tumpat – Kuala Lipis) will operate from Tumpat to Kuala Krai only, and from Dabong to Kuala Lipis only. There is no connection between the 2 SH51 trains.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH52 (Gua Musang – Tumpat) will operate from Gua Musang to Dabong only, and from Kuala Krai to Tumpat only. There is no connection between the 2 SH52 trains.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH53 (Tumpat – Gua Musang) will operate from Tumpat to Kuala Krai only.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH55 (Tumpat – Dabong) status is UNKNOWN.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH56 (Dabong – Tumpat) is CANCELLED.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH57 (Tumpat – Gua Musang) is CANCELLED.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH58 (Gua Musang – Tumpat) will operate from Kuala Krai to Tumpat only.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH59 (Gua Musang – Kuala Lipis) status is UNKNOWN. SH59 usually operates as an extension of SH57, which is CANCELLED.
  • Shuttle Timuran SH60 (Kuala Lipis – Tumpat) status is UNKNOWN.

All trains may be disrupted without prior notice.
Trains that are operating will have possibilities for delays.


12 April 2025 (Saturday)

Track repair work has been completed as of 11 April 2025, 7pm. Ekspres Rakyat Timuran and Shuttle Timuran train services are back in operation as usual. However, Ekspres Rakyat Timuran train services may still experience delays, which may cause reactionary delays to Shuttle Timuran train services along the line.
