KTMB Additional ETS Trains for Chinese New Year 2026
KTM Berhad will operate 8 additional Electric Train Service (ETS) train services from 13 to 22 February 2026 covering routes between Padang Besar, Butterworth, Ipoh, KL Sentral, and JB Sentral to cater for an expected surge in passengers travelling to key west coast destinations for Chinese New Year 2026. These additional services include morning, evening, and overnight departures, allowing passengers to better plan their outbound and return journeys during the festive peak.
KTMB Additional ETS Trains for Thaipusam 2026 With New JB Sentral–Butterworth ETS Route
The JB Sentral – Butterworth – JB Sentral route introduced for Thaipusam 2026 is also permanent from 4 February 2026 with daily operations.
Additional ETS Services for Chinese New Year 2026
From 13 to 22 February 2026, KTMB will operate extra ETS services along 4 key routes:
- KL Sentral – Padang Besar – KL Sentral
- JB Sentral – KL Sentral – JB Sentral
- KL Sentral – Butterworth – KL Sentral
- KL Sentral – Ipoh – KL Sentral
Ticket Sales and Train Schedules
Tickets for these additional ETS trains will go on sale from Saturday, 24 January 2026 at 12.15 am. Passengers are encouraged to book early via the KTM Mobile (KITS Style) app, KTMB’s official website, or ticket kiosks to secure their seats and enjoy flexi-fares if and while lower.

Travel Tips and Customer Support
Passengers are advised to purchase tickets via cashless transactions through the KTM Mobile (KITS Style) app, KTMB’s official website, or ticket kiosks to secure their seats and enjoy flexi-fares if and while lower. As of 1 January 2025, KTMB has fully transitioned to a cashless ticketing system.
Passengers are also encouraged to arrive at stations 30 minutes before departure for smoother documentation processes, as boarding gates will close 5 minutes prior to departure to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey.
