KTM KL-Kelantan Special Trains for Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026

KTM KL-Kelantan Special Trains for Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026

KTM Berhad is marking the coming festive season with two special KL-East Coast train services: the RTSM Ramadan Edition Special Excursion Train and the Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri East Coast Edition (ELA Pantai Timur). The additional train services are positioned as special excursion trains on the East Coast route, offering a more relaxed, scenic journey between Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) and Tumpat when usually a transfer is required.

The Railway To See Malaysia (RTSM) excursion train concept focuses on slow, comfortable rail travel, allowing passengers to enjoy the landscape along the line rather than simply treating the train as a point‑to‑point transfer.

These special trains are provided to help the public plan their journeys home earlier and more comfortably throughout the month of Ramadan, making preparations for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations more convenient. Ticket sales for both services will begin on Friday, 30 January 2026, at 12.00pm.

Route, timings and facilities

The special KL-East Coast train services link KL Sentral directly with 17 key stations including KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Seremban, Pulau Sebang, Gemas, and then through to the East Coast Line, stopping at Bahau, Mentakab, Jerantut, Kuala Lipis, Gua Musang, Dabong, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Wakaf Bharu, and Tumpat. This route makes the train particularly attractive for those returning to Kelantan and Pahang, as well as railway fans seeking to experience the seasonal run of the full length of the East Coast Line from Kuala Lumpur in one through service.

3 travel classes are available on board the special KL-East Coast train services, including AFC (Air-conditioned First Class) seats, ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) seats, and ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second) sleeping berths.

Aside from booked accommodation classes, there is an ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach) or café providing food and drinks, and a Chillax Coach fitted with artificial grass and beanbags, which can also be used as a surau when required.
