Old Batu Gajah Railway Station

Old Batu Gajah Railway Station

Old Batu Gajah Railway Station is located in the heart of Batu Gajah, Perak, about 2.5km away from the current Batu Gajah Railway Station. Old Batu Gajah Railway Station is still on the current track alignment, but is disused for train services with the completion of the Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP), with train services shifting operations to the new and bigger station. Today, Old Batu Gajah Railway Station still stands, operating as a food court.

Following Malayan Railway Fan Club (MRFC)’s visit to KTM Berhad’s Batu Gajah Central Workshop, the group adjourned to Old Batu Gajah Railway Station for lunch.

There are a couple of food stalls in Old Batu Gajah Railway Station mainly serving rice dishes.

Nasi Ayam Railway Batu Gajah has been operating here since 1990.

The bigger and quicker store, however, was Nasi Campur with a wide variety of dishes.

Seating areas can be found all around the station.

The former platform also has seating areas, but is cut back to the sheltered area with the installation of the new fence for the Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP).

The new Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrified Double Track can be seen up close from Old Batu Gajah Railway Station.
