The Don Mueang Airport Bus Service A1 is a convenient high-frequency bus service linking Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport to Mo Chit BTS Station at most times of the day. Despite being an almost non-stop express bus running via the tollway, it is part of the BMTA network of public buses in Bangkok, and charges reasonable local fares of just 30 Baht (~S$1.36). As the last train of the day had departed from Don Mueang before my arrival, I opted to use this bus service to get to the city since it was still running despite my late night arrival in Don Mueang.

There are 4 airport bus routes departing from Don Mueang International Airport to different parts of downtown Bangkok, but the A1 bus is the most direct and convenient route for connecting to the BTS Skytrain.
The airport bus stop is clearly marked just outside Gate 6.
The route map of the 4 airport buses heading to Bangkok city. The A2, A3 and A4 are less frequent than the A1, which comes every 5 minutes.
However, I had actually waited about 10 minutes for my A1 bus to arrive.

Don’t worry about the ticket – just take a seat in the bus. The conductor will come around to sell tickets later during the journey.
The view of the bus from my seat. Do note that this isn’t a dedicated bus for travellers, but rather, an actual public bus, so there’s no additional premium facilities on this airport bus. The fares aren’t that premium too, so don’t expect too much. If you are travelling with cabin baggage only with budget airlines at Don Mueang, this won’t be a problem at all.

Here, I continued my journey into downtown Bangkok by the BTS Sukhumvit Line.
Overall, a quick and efficient journey via the tollway to get from Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport to Mo Chit BTS Station late at night, though the bus did not come as frequently as advertised, but the wait was still bearable. I have usually taken the train to Hua Lamphong since my flights coincide with the train departure most of the time, but assuming if there’s no trains connecting smoothly with my arrival, I’ll definitely get this A1 airport bus.
Thanks for sharing <3. What time does the first bus A1 from Donmuang Airport?
