The SMRT East-West Line Changi Airport Extension (CAE) is a shuttle on a branch line from Tanah Merah Interchange to Expo and Changi Airport, operating at most times throughout the day. The last train from Tanah Merah Interchange to Changi Airport departs reasonably late at 11.50pm, allowing for a connection from most East-West Line trains from Tuas Link, Joo Koon and the city.
I connected to the last East-West Line Changi Airport Extension shuttle train from the last connecting main line East-West Line train, which arrived at Tanah Merah Interchange at 11.48pm.

Directional signs on both sides of the island platform tell you which path to take out of Changi Airport MRT Station depending on which terminal you are heading to.
*Do note that Terminal 1 can be accessed via Skytrain or JEWEL from both Terminals 2 and 3. This is probably just to simplify directions for first-time users.
An additional Scoot directional sign for Terminal 1 is also pasted with the recent move there.
The same last East-West Line Changi Airport Extension train arriving will form the last East-West Line Changi Airport Extension train out back to Tanah Merah too. However, this last train from Changi Airport will only connect to Pasir Ris-bound trains. If you are looking to save money for a taxi or Grab into the city, it’s still useful to get this train to Tanah Merah first before getting a taxi or Grab.
As I am flying with Scoot, I followed the sign to get the Skytrain to Terminal 1.

I opted to overnight in Changi Airport in order to save some money for an early-morning taxi or Grab to the airport for my 6.15am Scoot flight to Hat Yai, so this last East-West Line Changi Airport Extension train from Tanah Merah at 11.50pm worked pretty well for me, and hopefully it will for you too.
