Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link City Line: Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phaya Thai by Train (Klook Discounted Ticket)

After arriving from my delayed Thai Smile flight from Ubon Ratchathani, I headed down to the basement to catch the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link City Line to get to the city in the fastest way possible. I had already purchased my Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (ARL) Tickets from Klook, so it was a quick hop straight to the ticket gates after arrival.

The Airport Rail Link City Line station is located at the basement of the terminal building.

If you are picking up your Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (ARL) Tickets from Klook at Suvarnabhumi Airport, their counter is just beside the Airport Rail Link City Line concourse.

Heading straight to the ticket gates since I already have my Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (ARL) Ticket in hand.

Instead of using the usual automated fare gates, I had to use the manual side gate. An ARL staff was already on standby there to tick off my boarding station on my ticket.

Heading down to the platform.

Just as I got down, the Airport Rail Link City Line train was just ready for boarding which was excellent, saving me 12 minutes of waiting time should I have just missed it.

Turning towards the city. After this curve out of Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Airport Rail Link City Line runs almost straight to Phaya Thai, making it for a rather quick journey as there aren’t any curves to negotiate.

The Airport Rail Link City Line journey from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phaya Thai takes only 26 minutes with just 6 brief intermediate stops.

When heading out of the station, similarly, head for the manual side gate to be let out. In case there is no staff attending to you, approach the ticket office. You need to surrender your ticket to the staff to exit the station.

From here, head downstairs to connect to the BTS Skytrain to onward destinations in Bangkok city. You can also purchase discounted Bangkok Sky Train (BTS) One Day Passes from Klook and collect them at Phaya Thai BTS Station.

Overall, it was a usual cheap and efficient ride to the city from Suvarnabhumi Airport with the Airport Rail Link City Line, and the small discount off Klook was quite worth it. But regardless of discount or not, the Airport Rail Link City Line is still my top choice to get from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Bangkok city and back to escape the jams everywhere in the capital city of Thailand.
