Hat Yai City Municipality Park is a collection of attractions north of Hat Yai city. While containing a park near the entrance where locals gather on weekends, the Hat Yai City Municipality Park is also home to various attractions such as the Hat Yai Wonders Land, Hat Yai City Bodhisattva Guan Yin Temple, Phra Phutthamongkol Maharat (Standing Golden Buddha), Hat Yai Park Viewpoint and the one that I’m heading there for, the Hat Yai Cable Car. To get around the hilly terrain, there is an internal shuttle service available within the park.

Details of the Hat Yai Cable Car posted at the main entrance of Hat Yai City Municipality Park.

There is a booth here to enquire on the Hat Yai City Municipality Park shuttle service and the Hat Yai Cable Car. Tickets, however, are paid to the shuttle service driver and cable car ticket counter directly later on.

Seems like the Hat Yai City Municipality Park shuttle service is supposed to operate with a fleet of Pikachus, but these were out of service on the day of my visit.

After about 15 minutes of waiting, a white Songthaew showed up and the staff around called for passengers going to Hat Yai Cable Car to board it. Seems like this Songthaew will replace the Pikachu.
The fare for the Hat Yai City Municipality Park Shuttle Songthaew costs 50 Baht for a round trip. Payment for the Hat Yai City Municipality Park Shuttle Songthaew of 50 Baht is made directly to the driver BEFORE departure. The driver will also give you his number to call him once you are ready to come back down, or if you don’t have a Thailand number like me, will ask you for your pick-up time from Hat Yai Cable Car.

Arrived at Hat Yai Cable Car. The Hat Yai City Municipality Park Shuttle Songthaew journey from Hat Yai Wonders Land to Hat Yai Cable Car took just 6 minutes, but it’s not a good idea to walk up with the uphill terrain.

Here, I headed on to explore this lookout area and to get my ticket for the Hat Yai Cable Car ride.
