Shortest U-Bahn Line in Berlin (U4) from Innsbrucker Platz to Nollendorfplatz

The Berlin U-Bahn U4 line is the shortest U-Bahn train line in Berlin at only 2.86km long with 5 stations. Despite its short length, the Berlin U-Bahn U4 line plays a key role in connecting the S-Bahn Ringbahn lines of S41, S42, and S46 at Innsbrucker Platz to the main U-Bahn central trunk U1, U2, and U3 lines at Nollendorfplatz.

Innsbrucker Platz

With no fare gates, transfer between the Innsbrucker Platz elevated S-Bahn station and underground U-Bahn station is seamless.

The platforms are end-on so it’s a seamless direct walk from the entrance.

The original name of Hauptstrasse as of 1910 is preserved on one platform by the buffers.

The current name of Innsbrucker Platz as of 1933 is everywhere else.

Seats are available on the platform.

At the time of my visit, the Berlin U-Bahn U4 line operates with 5 minute frequency.

Nollendorfplatz

Nollendorfplatz is the northern end of the Berlin U-Bahn U4 line. The Berlin U-Bahn U4 ride from Innsbrucker Platz to Nollendorfplatz takes 8 minutes.

From here, I continued my journey on the main U1 and U3 line.
