More KTM ETS Additional Chinese New Year 2025 Trains (KL Sentral – Butterworth)
In response to the high demand for ETS train services during the Chinese New Year celebrations and school holidays, KTM Berhad will add another 2 Electric Train Service (ETS) ETS Platinum trips on the KL Sentral – Butterworth – KL Sentral route. This is in addition to existing additional trains announced previously, and which are now sold out.
Tickets for the additional-additional ETS Platinum services will be available for purchase starting 29 January 2025 (Wednesday) from 10:00 AM onwards. These additional-additional ETS trains will operate for 4 days, providing 630 seats daily, including the Business Class option. A total of 2,520 seats will be offered during this period to meet passenger needs.

The schedule for the additional ETS services is as follows:
| Train No. | Travel Dates | Route | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETS Platinum EP9185 | 30 January 2025 – 2 February 2025 | Butterworth – KL Sentral | 11:20 AM – 3:25 PM |
| ETS Platinum EP9186 | 30 January 2025 – 2 February 2025 | KL Sentral – Butterworth | 4:45 PM – 8:50 PM |
These additional ETS Platinum services are part of KTMB’s efforts to accommodate the high demand, as tickets for regular ETS services have sold out. This initiative underscores KTMB’s commitment to providing effective solutions to meet passenger needs, ensuring rail services remain the top travel choice for Malaysians by offering comfortable, safe, and user-friendly journeys.
Passengers are advised to purchase tickets via cashless transactions through the KTM Mobile app (KITS), ticketing kiosks, or KTMB’s official website at www.ktmb.com.my for a faster and more convenient experience. As of 1 January 2025, KTMB has fully transitioned to a cashless ticketing system.
Passengers are also encouraged to arrive at stations 30 minutes before departure for smoother documentation processes, as boarding gates will close 5 minutes prior to departure to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey.
