Only one (1) SkyWay will operate at any point of time with the Awana SkyWay being the main SkyWay and the Genting SkyWay being the “backup” SkyWay.
Buses go to EITHER the Awana Bus Terminal for the Awana SkyWay or Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex for the Genting SkyWay at any one point of time, depending on which SkyWay is in operation. In the rare event that both SkyWays are out of service, the Go Genting Express Bus will head directly to First World Hotel at Resorts World Genting at no extra charge.
I opted to go to Genting for a night since the hotel room was cheaper there, so I got the bus there from KL Sentral. And since I didn’t do much research on the dates that I was travelling there, I got an unexpected surprise.
Tip to all you Singaporeans out there going to Genting: unless you’re rushing for time for whatever reason, get a bus to KL and then get the Go Genting bus for RM4.30 instead of getting ripped for more than $50 at times for a direct bus.

You can get your tickets at the counter at the bus terminal, alternatively there’s another counter in the actual railway station itself at the mirror image of the KTM Intercity and ETS ticket counters.

Since the Awana Skyway was closed for maintenance, the bus headed for the Gohtong Jaya Genting SkyWay Complex instead.

BONUS: Genting Transport Relics at Genting SkyWay Complex
While walking towards the Genting SkyWay through the Genting SkyWay Complex, some former icons of Genting were on display. Whether intentional or unintentional, I do not know.
Both cars of the former Awana SkyWay or Sri Layang Cable Car System are found here. Considering that this is Malaysia’s first cable car system, I thought more care could have been provided to preserve these cars.
A former London bus, which operated as the Café London when the Genting Outdoor Theme Park was still around, along with two telephone booths are also found here. These look in a worse state than the Awana SkyWay cars with broken windows and moss covering them slowly.
