Heading out of the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal after arriving from the TurboJET from Hong Kong, I made my way to catch the Hotel Lisboa Free Hotel Shuttle Bus Service since I would be staying there for the night. There are many casino buses running from the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to various casinos throughout Macau, so if you’re planning to get around for free and have ample time to wait for and change buses at casinos, this could be a potential way to get around Macau for free.
Following the signs up the escalator.
Seems like it’s a link bridge to Jai Alai.
Walking the really long link bridge.
Heading into the open air section. This feels like it’s really far from the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal already.
The many signs along the way for the Lisboa.
Ah finally, I can see where the buses are parked. This is clearly not the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal any more but the Oceanus at Jai Alai. Hmm, perhaps I should have picked to stay at the Jai Alai instead.
Heading down the escalator from the long link bridge.
The signs continue to point towards the buses.
The private shuttle for Grand Lisboa and Hotel Lisboa.
The public shuttle for Grand Lisboa and Hotel Lisboa.
After checking with the staff on hand on which bus I should take to get to Hotel Lisboa directly and checking through my booking confirmation from agoda, I was escorted to the private shuttle for hotel guests only.
(Those without hotel confirmations can just take the public green shuttle bus for free as usual.)
Inside the private hotel guest shuttle to Grand Lisboa and Hotel Lisboa. I feel like some high-roller already despite my purpose of coming to Macau not being for gambling. This Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has only 7 big seats on board.
Departing from the Jai Alai, the main free shuttle bus stop from the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.
Scripted announcements were made by the driver regarding the stops along the way and to put on the safety belt.
Some barriers are set up for the upcoming Macau Grand Prix.
Passing by the Hotel Lisboa with no through road.
Arriving at Grand Lisboa first.
Making a brief stop at Grand Lisboa.
Turning back to Hotel Lisboa.
Arriving at Hotel Lisboa.
Dropping off at the Hotel Lisboa. The ride from Jai Alai Oceanus (Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal) to Hotel Lisboa took just 10 minutes.
Looking back at my private hotel transfer.
Heading into the hotel lobby of the Hotel Lisboa.
The front desk is a level up from the lobby.
Heading to check-in to my room. As I checked in at about 1.00pm, my room would only be ready at 3.00pm. Hence, I could only leave my luggage at the concierge instead of heading up o my room. Not wanting to waste time in Macau, I opted to continue spending the whole day out, returning to the hotel only at night to finally get my room.
Overall, a rather pleasant private shuttle from Jai Alai Oceanus (Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal) to Hotel Lisboa to kick start my Macau trip with a bit of unexpected luxury. Now, off for some regular transport exploration.
