KTM MySawasdee ขบวนรถมายสวัสดี Kuala Lumpur–Hat Yai Seasonal Sleeper Train

MySawasdee is a popular seasonal KTM Intercity international cross-border express train journey operating between Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) in Malaysia and Hat Yai Junction in Thailand, with an extension to Surat Thani in the near future. This train service aims to cater to Malaysian tourists looking to explore southern Thailand. MySawasdee’s itinerary is scheduled for selected dates per year, often tied to festivals or long weekends in Malaysia, with travel dates announced in advance.

MySawasdee launched for Malaysia Day long weekend holidaymakers on 15 September 2022, with seasonal operations on major Malaysian long weekends and holiday periods.

The MySawasdee train journey is designed to offer a convenient and scenic travel option, reducing the number of stops compared to regular ETS trains. The journey begins at KL Sentral and includes intermediate stops at Sungai Buloh, Ipoh, Taiping, and Padang Besar only. Passengers must disembark at Padang Besar for immigration clearance before continuing to Hat Yai​​.

2 travel classes are available on board the MySawasdee, including ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) seats and ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second) sleeper berths. Onboard amenities include a buffet coach or café serving food and beverages, and a Chillax Coach with an open space for passengers to lounge in.

With the growing popularity of the MySawasdee charter train, it will soon be extended north to Surat Thani to give tourists more options to stay in Thailand. Mr. Ekarat Sriarayanpong, head of the Governor’s Office of the State Railway of Thailand, said that the KTM-SRT 42nd Joint Conference meeting on cooperation in rail transportation between Thailand and Malaysia is an important expansion of cooperation that will help upgrade the railway travel of both countries to be able to connect travel seamlessly, resulting in mutual benefits in terms of economy, trade, and tourism, and in line with the government’s policy that aims to drive Thailand to become a tourism and logistics hub of the region in the future.

ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second)

There are 4 ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second) coaches attached on MySawasdee. The interior of the ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second) coach has 20 lower berths and 20 upper berths. KTM does not convert the ADNS berths into seats during the day, and the night configuration is fixed throughout.

ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class)

There are 4 ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) coaches on MySawasdee. The interior of the ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia) has 60 seats in a 2+2 configuration in a fixed forward or reverse direction.

ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach)

An ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach), also known by most passengers as canteen, is also attached on the MySawasdee.

Event Coach

The interior of the Event Coach has karaoke facilities and 36 seats in a 2+2 configuration, with 2 bays of facing seats by the rear and the rest are airline seats facing the event area. The Event Coach also doubles up as a Surau if needed.

The Event Coach may not be attached if the Chillax Coach is attached.

Chillax Coach

The Chillax Coach is available for passengers to lounge in. Seats have been removed from the Chillax Coach with artificial grass carpets replacing 2 sides of the coach for passengers to lounge in. Beanbags are provided for a more comfortable seating position near the floor. The Chillax Coach also doubles up as a Surau if needed.

The Chillax Coach may not be attached if the Event Coach is attached.

Ticket sales open on 2 January 2025 for the above trains.

The MySawasdee operates on a seasonal basis.

The ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach), Chillax Coach, and Event Coach are free spaces for passengers to enjoy and lounge in. There is no standalone ticket sold for the ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach), Chillax Coach, or Event Coach.
