IMPORTANT: This page has been simplified as there are almost no logical train connections with the timetable update effective 18 December 2017, and no logical connections at all with the timetable update effective 3 June 2018.

Any existing local and express buses offer better connections than the infrequent and illogical timings of the Shuttle (JB Sentral – Pulau Sebang (Tampin)). All changes at Gemas or Pulau Sebang (Tampin) – 2 pairs a day – have wait times of over 1 hour, with the record breaking northbound night train connection providing a waiting time of more than 4.5 hours. There are also no more afternoon train connection possibilities departing from either KL Sentral or JB Sentral.

You are strongly advised against taking the Shuttle (JB Sentral – Pulau Sebang (Tampin)) effective 3 June 2018.

The Shuttle was a series of daily local services between JB Sentral and Gemas, stopping at all stations en route. It travelled along the unelectrified, single track line in the south to connect to and from ETS services running at higher speeds on the double track sectors to other central and northern destinations. This train served the southern state of Johor, only entering Negeri Sembilan at Gemas as the station is located within the said state.

As with all Shuttle trains, there was no catering on board. However, express fares were charged as reserved seating is provided for the Shuttle as it is treated as a relay train for ETS services to and from Gemas, even though ticket conditions said otherwise.

The Shuttle (JB Sentral – Gemas) was previously known as the Ekspres Selatan before 1 February 2017 and is now known as the Ekspres Selatan again since 3 June 2018.

How do I travel from JB Sentral to KL Sentral with KTM Intercity?

KTM Intercity trains run on the non-electrified single track lines of Peninsular Malaysia. Change to the ETS at Gemas.

How much is the combined Shuttle and ETS fare from JB Sentral to KL Sentral?
