KTMB Additional ETS, EMUPlus & Charter Trains for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026
KTM Berhad will operate 26 additional train services from 17 March to 29 March 2026 to meet high demand from passengers returning to their hometowns. Of this total, 18 Electric Train Services (ETS) and 8 EMUPlus services will operate as a proactive measure following the near sell-out of existing services during this period.
Throughout the period of operations, the additional ETS and EMUPlus trains will provide 8,118 seats a day, including the Business Class option, bringing the total to 105,534 seats to accommodate the surge in passengers travelling for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. This brings the total number of seats offered during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period to 285,714, covering 70 trips a day with an average of 21,978 seats daily.
Additional ETS Services for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026
From 13 to 29 March 2026, KTMB will operate extra train services as follows:
ETS services:
- 8 trips on the JB Sentral – KL Sentral – JB Sentral route
- 6 trips on the Ipoh – KL Sentral – Ipoh route
- 2 trips on the Butterworth – KL Sentral – Butterworth route
- 2 trips on the Padang Besar – KL Sentral – Padang Besar route
EMUPlus services:
- Eight (8) trips on the Ipoh – KL Sentral – Ipoh route
Ticket Sales and Train Schedules
Tickets for 10 additional ETS trains will go on sale from Sunday, 1 March 2026 at 12.00pm, while the remaining 16 services will be announced in the near future. Passengers are encouraged to book early via the KTM Mobile (KITS Style) app, KTMB’s official website, or ticket kiosks to secure their seats and enjoy flexi-fares if and while lower.

Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA)
Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA) East Coast & Northern Editions
The Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA) East Coast Edition will operate on 18 March on the KL Sentral – Tumpat route and on 22 March on the Tumpat – KL Sentral route. A total of 792 tickets are offered, including sleeper coaches, for this service.
This service offers ADNS (Air-conditioned Day/Night Second) sleeper coaches with 120 berths for each trip, in addition to AFC (Air-conditioned First Class) seats and ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) seats, providing passengers with more comfortable and flexible travel options. One-way fares start from as low as RM80.00 for ASC, while ADNS fares are RM90.00 (Upper Berth) and RM95.00 (Lower Berth), and AFC fares are RM95.00.
For the Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA) Northern Edition, this special train will operate on the KL Sentral – Padang Besar – KL Sentral route. It will run 4 services: on 17 March and 22 March for KL Sentral – Padang Besar, and on 18 March and 23 March for Padang Besar – KL Sentral. A total of 1,200 tickets are offered for the ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) seated coaches at a one-way fare of RM70.00.
Tickets for these special services are still available, and passengers who wish to experience returning to their hometowns on a conventional train can purchase tickets via the KITS Style application, the KTMB website, or KTMB ticket kiosks at selected stations.
Travel Tips and Customer Support
Passengers are advised to purchase tickets via cashless transactions through the KTM Mobile (KITS Style) app, KTMB’s official website, or ticket kiosks to secure their seats and enjoy flexi-fares if and while lower. As of 1 January 2025, KTMB has fully transitioned to a cashless ticketing system.
Passengers are also encouraged to arrive at stations 30 minutes before departure for smoother documentation processes, as boarding gates will close 5 minutes prior to departure to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey.
