KTM JB Sentral Ticket Counter Has Stopped Selling KTM Train Tickets
Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral)‘s ticket counter has stopped selling all KTM train tickets including KTM Intercity, ETS, and Shuttle Tebrau. This was spotted on multiple official notices during my visit on 15 September 2023 after alighting from the KTM Shuttle Tebrau 86up train. No reason has been given for the cessation of ticket sales at the ticket counter.
The Ticket Counter has been rebranded to Customer Care Desk. The Customer Care Desk, formerly known as Ticket Counter, remains open for non-sales services such as general enquiries or to edit your wrongly-keyed passport and personal details for the KTM Shuttle Tebrau train.
It is not known if this cessation of ticket sales will soon be applied to all ticket counters throughout Malaysia on the KTM network.
Notices of the closing of ticket sales at the JB Sentral ticket counter are displayed on all counters. It is also noted that the term Ticket Counter has been rebranded to Customer Care Desk.
For KTM Intercity and KTM ETS trains, tickets can be purchased from the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) Ticket Kiosk located to the right of the ticket counter Customer Care Desk, on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) website, or on the KTMB Mobile App.
For KTM Shuttle Tebrau trains, tickets can be purchased from the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) website, or on the KTMB Mobile App.
