KTM Komuter Early Bird Service from Bandar Tasik Selatan to KL Sentral

Since 1 August 2016, KTM Komuter has provided an earlier first train on weekdays, express from Bandar Tasik Selatan to KL Sentral. This makes it more convenient for passengers on night buses arriving to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to get to KL city at an earlier timing.

This also means that KTM Komuter is now the first train operating towards the city centre as compared to the RapidKL Sri Petaling Line which starts at around 6am and the KLIA Transit at 6.17am to KL Sentral.

The KTM Komuter station opens at 5am for you to purchase a ticket, or just touch in and head to the platform if you are using a Touch ‘n Go card.

The train arrives at Bandar Tasik Selatan at around 5.20am.

You can board the train once it arrives. Since it only departs at 5.35am, the doors are not left open for the air-conditioning to run out, so you have to push the button to open the doors.

The interior of the train at 5.30am. Not a bad crowd for such a timing.

Before departure, the driver opens all the doors for about 10 seconds and closes it to let the other passengers who do not know about pushing the button to open doors into the train.

This train runs express from Bandar Tasik Selatan to KL Sentral, taking just 14 minutes. This train will not get you to Salak Selatan, Seputeh or Midvalley – do not board this train if you are heading to these stations.

The train arrived in KL Sentral on time at 5.49am. This same train will continue on to Tanjung Malim at 6.15am, so stay on board if you are continuing your journey northwards towards Kuala Lumpur, Bank Negara, Putra and all stations towards Rawang and Tanjung Malim. This train is only express between Bandar Tasik Selatan and KL Sentral.

This is the only train that crosses routes, so if you are heading to Batu Caves, alight at KL Sentral and wait for the next train, or just take the next train at Bandar Tasik Selatan (actual first train from Pulau Sebang (Tampin) to Batu Caves) at 6.35am.

The new early bird service gets you to a very empty KL Sentral before 6am. This allows for a connection with the first Kelana Jaya Line and Monorail Line train should you be continuing your journey on it.
