Merak Bus Terminal • Terminal Terpadu Merak

Merak Bus Terminal or Terminal Terpadu Merak is the main bus terminal at the Port of Merak for all buses except DAMRI. On an exploration to the Port of Merak, I visited Merak Bus Terminal for some bus spotting and to access Merak Executrive Ferry Terminal.

A wide terminal hall is in front of the bus berths.

Buses mainly run to the Jabodetabek area at frequent intervals.

There are also long-distance buses on the other end of the terminal to other parts of Java.

Ticket counters for each bus operator is available in the main hall.

Local food stalls for simple food, some instant only, are available at the main hall too.

The upper level of Terminal Terpadu Merak has more stalls selling snacks in bulk.

There also agents for the ferry to Bakauheni here. The agents help for Ferizy online purchase as the ferry system has also moved to an online ticketing system for payment with Indonesian online payment only, and this bridges the gap for those not technologically-inclined or those who cannot proceed with the payment like foreigners.

There is also a scale model of what could be the future of the Port of Merak with integrated ferry, bus, and train terminals.

Here, I headed into Merak Executive Ferry Terminal to see how I should proceed with the ferry in the event that I decide to cross to Sumatra via train, ferry, and bus on a future trip.
