SMH Rail G10 Locomotive
SMH Rail G10 Locomotive is a remanufactured diesel locomotive derived from the KTM 24 Class Locomotive. Similar to other SMH Rail projects, the G10 is an upgraded and modernised locomotive to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency while extending the locomotive’s service life. The G10 locomotive’s new bodywork resembles the KTM 26 Class Blue Tiger Locomotive, while using the underframe and superstructure of the 24 Class. The original SEMT Pielstick engine was replaced with MTU.
The G10 features modern traction control systems, improved fuel efficiency, remote monitoring and diagnostics, and compliance with international standards. This process involves refitting the core mechanical and electrical components while incorporating new technology to meet contemporary rail operational requirements.
