Daima Hotel Padang is located along the main inland road of Jl. Jend. Sudirman in Padang, and sufficiently close to Padang Railway Station which I will be mainly using during my trip. The price point and quality seems to be the best fit for my budget, so I opted for it for this stay.
The property consists of 5 floors, which seems to be the typical height of buildings in Padang.

The attached shower has good water pressure with 3-in-1 soap provided on a dispenser on the wall.
Towels are provided. A bidet spray is also available beside the toilet bowl.
The sink area is quite convenient with an additional ledge around the sink to place your own toiletries, though I’m not sure about the exposed power socket right beside it.
Toothbrush kits, shower caps and a bar of soap are provided in the toilet.
In the morning, the breakfast buffet spread is definite inviting, offering a lot more food than standard Indonesian hotels.
There is the staple of white rice, along with Mie Goreng, Nasi Goreng, some deep-fried side dishes, lontong, toast, fruits and desserts. Coffee, tea and juices are also available at the breakfast buffet.
Overall, a pretty pleasant stay at Daima Hotel Padang. While the rates may be slightly higher than other parts of Indonesia due to the lesser competition in the area, the overall quality does prove that the price paid matches the value of service and experience. If I were to return to Padang, I would consider staying here again.
