NS6 Sungei Kadut MRT Station

NS6 Sungei Kadut MRT Station is a future MRT station located in Sungei Kadut Industrial Estate. It will be an interchange station for the North South Line (NSL) and Downtown Line (DTL). The NSL Sungei Kadut MRT Station will be an infill station on the existing and active North South Line (NSL), while the Downtown Line (DTL) portion will be part of a new line extension from Bukit Panjang.

Sungei Kadut MRT Station was first announced as Kadut Station, a provisional station on the Woodlands Extension Line, on 26 February 1991. It was finally confirmed in the Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP) 2040 by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), to be opened in the mid-2030s.

A missing station number (N19 and NS6) between Yew Tee and Kranji had always been reserved for Sungei Kadut MRT Station since the planning stage of the Woodlands Extension Line.

Site of NS6 Sungei Kadut MRT Station

Evidence of Sungei Kadut MRT Station may have already been present since the inception of the Woodlands Extension Line. There is a fenced-up plot of land approximately 200 meters long along Sungei Kadut Central, beside a set of provisional bus stops. This is most likely the site of Sungei Kadut MRT Station.

Sungei Kadut Central has already been built as a wide dual-carriageway to cater for future traffic.
